AFM problems?
1988 S4 TII
I believe the last owner put in a N/A AFM instead of the turbo II AFM but that doesn't seem to be the problem. The problem lies within maybe the AFM itself? or the wiring. When I start the car the only way to keep it alive is to keep the flap open on the AFM. So with my assistant aka dad, I start the car and he keeps the flap open so the car can get air in and keep the car running. Once he lets go of course it just sputters and dies. any clues to what may be wrong?:banghead::banghead::banghead: |
If it's the wrong AFM, that is indeed the problem. Get the number off it and check it against the fiche/mazdatrix number. If it's the wrong AFM, change it out and proceed from there. If you keep hunting for problems before you fix a known one, you could be hunting forever while the answer already dropped fromthe sky, landed on your face and started to wiggle.

I lol'd at that but its hard to find a turbo II afm nowadays :\ especially in the junk yards

also the previous owner used a N326 or N/A Rx7 AFM when I bought the car so I can't think of it as a problem.
