Important message to ALL DGRRX registered attendees... I need your HELP!

First of all, I want to thank you all for registering for DGRRX. This year is turning out to be the BEST DGRR EVER!!!

I would love to make this a completely FREE event but unfortunately, the time, effort, and what all it goes into this event, some fee is needed to run this event.

I also greatly appreciate you all driving from all over the country to attend this event... I believe that its unfair when select few locals refuse to register and want to crash this event by just showing up. I mean, I even have to drive over 500 miles total to get there and back.

To avoid this, I need help from all of you. This year, I'm going to buy a plastic name tag holder and I would like all of you to wear it where it could be easily seen. We'll also have several volunteers walking abouts to see if you are wearing your name tag and ask you to wear it. Please don't take this personal nor get angry if one of the volunteers ask you about your name tag. They are not accusing you, just wanted to make sure you have registered for the event and signed the waiver. If you see people who are NOT wearing a name tag, please tell one of the volunteers and they will approach to the individual(s) and ask them to show their name tag.

Name tag this year will be your ID to attend award ceremony and if you win a prize, we will ask you to turn in the name tag holder for exchange with the prize (as we could re-use it next year... if we have another DGRR :) ).

Again, I'm trying to be reasonable and be fair to all the attendees of DGRRX.

Thank you!

PHILIP SOHN

Good plan, I'm sure it would be easy for people to crash the event!

Make sure my name tag says "Turd Ferguson". :)

Sounds good; will the name taq be big enough for screenname and real name? That would help tie the personality you know from the forum to the person you're speaking to in person.

Forum SN and First name on the name tag.

Guests without forum SN will have the person they are related to's SN + "GUEST".

Perfect, Phil. I knew there was a reason we let you be HMFIC. :)

I dont see that wearing a name tag is a big deal. Any convention or conference I attend for work requires us to have name badges for much the same reason... I havent worn mine so much in the past as it just wears out/falls off, lol...

If name badges keep the event going for another year then its a small price to pay :)

Phil, do you need volunteers still? I'd be more than happy to help with that. I'll be walking all around looking at different cars anyway! :)

I think we have enough volunteers for the event..

BUT!!!

I've heard from someone who's wanting to 'visit' the event. I'm not quite sure why its such a big deal to pay $25 to support the event?? I mean, I'm even providing a shirt for this amount.

Anyhow, This year, we are DEFINITELY going to put a stop to people just wanting to show up and 'visit'.

Again, if you can not afford to pay for the event, contact me vs. just stopping by. We have now 8 FREE registrations left that's set up to help those who's having financial issues.

I like it. Given the "SN+Guest" template, I think Phil's nametag should read as follows:

Herblenny
Phil - HMFIC
