Himni Solid Motor and Transmission Mounts
Anyone have any experiences with the Himni Racing Solid Motor and Transmission mounts? I am thinking of picking up the set for my car I just wanted to hear some feedback on it.

Well, they guarantee fitment. The way I understand it solid Aluminum mounts are pretty straight forward. Your car will vibrate more, your drive train less, it may make shifts smoother/easier and could help put the power down quicker. And they won't disintegrate in 20 years.

hmm sounds like a plan. What do you mean by vibrate?

hmm well I am planning on tracking my car. Do you have any experience like can you describe how the engine feels with those mounts? what about the solid mounts for the transmission?
Am I better off running the Banzai engine and tranny mounts? |
I heard that solid mounts put more power to the ground. But is it true that the engine is louder?

I use comp mounts from Racing Beat or Mazdatrix, they might even be the same. My car is pretty noisy inside, but I also have the \/\/\/ exhaust, 75% of the interior padding and carpet removed, a whiny performance fuel pump and a slightly noisy diff. And my cheap stereo has a baseline amount of static grumble grumble grumble... |
Well once I get my car back I plan on using it as my DD again. I have all of my interior and I plan on keeping all of my interior. I still have the padding and all that stuff. I am planning on running the RB road race exhaust so idk if it would be that loud in the cabin.

It will definitely be louder than stock. Tolerable is a relative term, but I'm betting you'll get used to whatever it sounds like.
|
well the engine and tranny set are 90 bux
how much is the banzai racing one? |
I think I have gotten to the point where I just want a comfortable ride, if little noises get to me when I am trying to sleep I am sure the loud noise from the engine will get to me as well.
|
DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! I put solid motor and tranny mounts in my car, and it was nice at first, but as my dd for the past 4 years its gotten old, everything vibrates, stuff vibrates loose (bolts, screws ect) random things rattle, you can hear every little whine and vibration from the transmission and motor. I didnt notice shifting to be any smoother either. If it were track only it would be alright, but as a dd its not worth it (the ladies dont like it much either)

it's funny because my gf loves my FC regardless of the noise. She loves the smile it puts on my face. I think I will just got with the poly's from banzai. F-that I don't want annoying noises while I am listening to my jams and just enjoying my FC.

So I just checked and the mounts would cost me 80 bucks more. Are there other options besides Banzai that offer the same or even better quality?

Hell, my '89 GXL with stock (probably torn) mounts, springs and struts rattles like crazy - and that's with the AAS set to "normal". Adding stiffer mounts (be stiffer rubber, polyurethane or solid) is going to increase cabin vibration and noise no matter what. I went from the stock rubber mounts to 70 durometer polyurethane mounts (softer than Banzai Racing's mounts) all around on my old turbocharged '02 Mazda Protege5 and when cold that thing would rattle like crazy and it was less than 10 years old. Just imagine what it would be like on a car 20+ years old. Just saying, if rattles, creaks and other noises bother you than I would definitely reconsider. I will be replacing the mounts on my car at some point but whether with polyurethane or stiffer rubber remains to be decided based on what direction I take the car. |
