So i have a GTU series 5 FC. I want to run the rear windshield wiper. What do I need to do? and what parts do I need.

All I know right now is that I need
The hatch with windshield wiper
the windshield wiper switch that has the rear wiper

so yeah you FC gurus can really help
I am tired of not being able to see in back of me when Southern California faces horrible rain.

I am not going to be much help in getting a wiper put on the rear but I can offer you advice on RainX. one application and you will be able to see out of anything even during a monsoon!

I use this on my front windshield of my FD going in the hardest rain and it make using your wipers optional. This stuff is awesome.

ZGN: you helped. I think i will give it a try if it comes out to be too much of a hassle to get the hatch with the wiper working in the rear.

What you stated in your first post is all you need. The plugs are there. You might need a rear wiper relay or fuse, don't remember.

I went the opposite direction.

+1 You would also need the motor, correct?

I'd love to swap with you but I don't see that being feasible. My rear wiper actually works but it makes some annoying noises - I'm looking to ditch it, the motor and everything else associated with that system.

hmmm so the plug is already there? I was told that I need the actual wiring harness for it. I believe they told me i needed that and the reservoir tank and a bunch of other stuff

djmtsu 02-25-2010 12:38 PM

Oh yeah, the reservoir tank! I forgot about that! I had one, might have chucked it.

Rear wipers suck anyway! Revel in the fact that people would die for your wiperless hatch!

i have the hatch and reservoir for free if you wanna come pick it up pm me if so..or if it will fit in the 8 and you're goin to the gap i can bring it up for ya.

I have a wiperless hatch that you could have for $50 if you just come and get it.

I'm just south of nashville. You could come get it on your way to Deal's Gap!!! (although we'd have to work something out because I'll be on my way to the gap too!)

Something tells me he isn't going to drive from Pomona to TN just for a hatch.

Just sayin'

I don't think I'll be making it to Deal's Gap - but I really want to so I'm still looking into it. I'm already making one big trip to Limerock in late May and my wife may not let me do another :( Besides, I need SOME time to work on the car.

Either way, the hatch is tempting. If you want, feel free to PM me info on the condition, etc.
