Future build opinions..

Goal Minimum: 400whp in my FB

I plan on taking a s5 6port, replace the rotors with s5 turbo rotors.
I have a 45 dcoe but im thinking it will be too small for this turbo application although ive seen 45s on boosted 13bs. So my other option/idea is a Barry Grant 650 cfm blow through carb with a j&w 4 barrel manifold.. Turbo i plan on using is a Holset hx35 or 40.. Using a dizzy. The motor will be rebuilt.. Any one have any opinions and the planned setup, carb sizes, will it meet my goals and should i street port the irons or can i make the goal on the stock ports cleaned up a bit?

Half-Bridge, or at the very least a street port.

this.

your post sounds like you want to run a turbo carb setup? :o15:

thats a pretty terrible idea. also the dizzy. that whole setup sounds like a nightmare.

the na motor and rotors are fine for boost too if you have a standalone/know what you're doing

As the owner of a blow-through FB... I actually agree with Nev. Yeah, it works. Yeah, you can make lots of power reliably if you're persistent. No, it's not fun to tune. No, it'll never run as well as, nor get near the fuel economy or power of a proper EFI setup.

Once this motor goes, I'm building an REW and running it with a MegaSquirt. Carbs are cool, but I'm getting tired of their limitations.
