I need help on rims size

I'm thinkin about 19" rims on my rx7FD. But will that be too much for my car

Phoenix7 07-27-2010 12:39 AM

just a tad too much. 18s are pushing it already but any bigger and you'll have to buy rubber-band tires. What brand wheel? what weight? what width? Purely for looks?

sandewc 07-27-2010 09:22 AM

ok thanks!! i guess 18" will be a safe route. i was going for 19x 9 ft and
19x11 rear asanti rims

19's are huge...Look at this thread for ideas on offsets for 11" wheels on 285s and how they'll work with the suspension and fenders.

The 9" width should be fine (depending on offsets) but you'll definitely need a widebody to fit the 11" wheels without them sticking out or being too close to the suspension and rubbing.

I'm not familiar with Ashanti wheels so I dunno whether they're heavy or not. It also depends on a lot of things but you know what you're building and it's purpose (track, cruiser, DD...)

Heavy. Big. Luxury style wheels. Not normally for an RX-7 LOL.

OP I hope you're building a cruiser and not a track car lol.

don't stop at 19's. you need to get big boys or bust.

speedjunkie 07-28-2010 02:43 PM

I'm thinking Donk, or Bubble or whatever. LOL

I think that the 18's would be your best bet. 18/19 stagger? Jus a thought

sandewc 08-05-2010 07:19 PM

im going with 18x9 front and 18x11 rear on a fd burnout kit
