Loyalty
The reason why I titled this introduction thread "Loyalty" was not to be clever or vague with my post, but to truly capture the feelings and emotions I get when thinking why I've enjoyed Rotaries for quite some time. It's pretty simple actually and as I think back, it's as if it were meant for me to be a Rotary lifer.
When high school came to an end, and all of my cool friends were not only driving cool cars, but they also had cool girlfriends, I found myself wanting to follow the pack instinctively. I met my first girl in spring but felt a little short handed in the transportation dept. I later got my first job at a supermarket and saved all I could. A buddy of mine would often terrorize the streets in a carb'd RX2, and at the time I never heard, or even smelled that all to common rotary scent. I asked him what kinds of car it was and requested he pop the hood. As if in slow motion, he lifted and a glow began lol, ok not so much a glow, but something heavenly and quite angelic. It was my first sight of this small and tiny wonder, the Rotary Engine. Soon following that experience, another local buddy of mine owned a FC3S. It was a white GXL-SE I believe, a 1987 model. Non turbo and smoking, I purchased it for 1k from the job I had been working at. It smoked a lot, never got registered and later sold for half the price. Still in love with the Rotary, I purchased another FC and two more as the years progressed. Apologies for the long post, but to this day I still own a Rotary and in many ways, it has changed my life. For these reasons alone and maybe other reasons I haven't typed, I am forever loyal:coolgleamA: |
Good to have you here!
I actually came from the other direction (I started out hating rotaries). Either way, they grow on you. Make yourself at home! |
