Radiator upgrade, S5 Turbo

My original stock radiator is in good shape, pretty clean internally & shows no signs of leakage at the end tank crimps but it is about 22 years old -- I feel I'd be pushing my luck with it on the next road trip out to DGRR. Since I'm putting the car down for some other winter projects (turbo rebuild time!) I figure it's a good time to upgrade the radiator. I intend to continue using the stock fan & shroud and want something (preferably all AL, multi-pass type)that will fit my S5 T2 without hacking anything up too much.

Given the above criteria, what do you guys suggest WRT brands & shops to buy one from?

Thanks - good info Vex!

Did a little web search last night and found this place that sells Koyo radiators for what seems to be a reasonable price. They have a triple pass and a single pass AL stock replacements, with improved cooling capacity

My only concern is according to them Koyo no longer gives you any kind of warranty.

I like custom. I'd call Griffen and see if they can build you something of the proper size, and then fab up some brackets.

Re-Speed sells them. If you can, it's good to support the rotary guys. :)

What were the dimensions of yours? I did in fact have a few questions to ask you about your car when you were here but I tend to forget all that when I meet people for the first time in person

BIG! Liek everything else... HUGE! I want to say overall it's ~26" wide with a 20"something core, and about 24" tall. I think, I'll have the bumper off in a few days and will get some better measurements. I thought I had them in Vex's thread but apparently not. I've measured this damn thing so many times that I should have it memorized by now.

I'm actually thinking about ditching it for a much MUCH shorter triple pass. Increased ground clearance is always a good thing. A double pass would work, but I'd need a custom T-Stat outlet.... custom.... fuck it... I'll do the double pass

Oh yeah, ask any other questions ya want man... probably better in the Epic rd trip thread or in the build thread.... or hell man, ya got my cell number don't ya?

That's what i was thinking, a short double since the rad/intercooler setup I had envisioned is basically what you did.
