The Idaho Rally 2011 is coming up in a few short months! For those who don't know, the spectator areas are generally....less fun. Volunteering for a road marshall position is the best way to see the best action. While it does require a time commitment from you as your are assigned your spot for the day, you get a great spectating experience! Hopefully a few of the volunteers from last year will chime in.

Go to this site, and you will see a light orange box titled "Rally Volunteer Sign-Up". Check the Idaho Rally event and log in. If you have not recreated a log in before, you will be asked to do so. Its not terribly comprehensive, just name and some contact information.

The event is June 18th and 19th and should be in Elmore county exclusively this year. I have the volunteer organzier so you can expect to talk with me upon signing up and additional details as they arise.

Your absolutley right about getting the best spectator spots if you volunteer.

I volunteered at the 100 acre in the woods down in the Ozarks back in the
day and it was a blast.

Here in the US we are so concerned about spectator safety that you can't
see anything as a spectator. Kind of why Rallys aren't as popular here as in
other parts of the world.
