Engine bay zip ties
I am doing some cleaning and painting before i put my new engine. I was wondering if anyone know where I could purchase the zip ties that mount in the various engine bay holes. I tried mazda, but they dont have them. It does not need to be OE, but something similar.

My roommate and I used velcro cable ties from Office Max (or Office Depot or whatever) on our engine bays. Cheap, reusable, won't get brittle and break when heated, and we were still able to get them in black to match the engine bay and not be as noticeable.
The only issue is they may need to be trimmed on the sides in order to not bunch up, depending on how big the hole is. I didn't need to trim mine but I don't know how big the holes are you're referring to. |
mazda does have em, they are not cheap though, i think list price is like $14 each!
finding the part number is tricky too |
take your time and head out to a salvage yard. you can prolly find and get what your looking for second hand...for free. if you can, get to the back side of the clip that goes into the frame/sheet metal with a pair of pliers and squeeze the locking tabs so you can remove the zips without breaking them. they can be found on SA's, FB's and FC's
