S5 N/A engine part out
Like the title says
S5 N/A engine that I'm parting out. Engine ran with no issues, never flooded, never any CELs. It was simply low on power and compression and due for a rebuild. I'll be tearing it down as soon as I have time and once that happens I'll have pics and prices. Let me know if you need something. I also have two N/A transmissions. Neither of them have had any issues and never had any grinding in any gears. I'd prefer to sell locally, especially for the transmissions. I'm located in Southern Indiana and will drive to meet you if/when I have time. |
How many miles on the transmissions? I may be interested in some engine parts as well pending condition (mileage?). How close are you to Cincinnati, OH?
|
One tranny has close to 200k miles on it, but was never driven hard. Was my father's vert since about 1991-92. He's 70 now and I doubt the car has ever been redlined. He keeps meticulous care of his cars. They never miss scheduled maintenance or fluid changes.
Other tranny was out of my vert before a turbo swap. It's been sitting for 6 years or so and has unknown miles. It was rebuilt about two years before the turbo swap....but I don't have the invoice so I can't sell it as such. Overall the engine is a Mazda reman with somewhere between 90k-100k. IIRC it had around 80-85psi compression on all faces at the beginning of the summer. It was my daily driver and never missed a start, never flooded. Like the rest of the car, it never missed an oil change. Other than being low on power it had no issues. I'm 3 hours from Cincy and I could meet you halfway if you toss me some gas money. What engine parts are you looking for? |
Engine parts would be rotors, e-shaft, counterweights and associated hardware. I also may be interested in the stationary gears and the water pump housing. Pending the condition of everything obviously. I have all these parts from my previous engine but it's always good to have spares :)
I may still be interested in the transmission(s). I'm building my FC for road track duty and I've heard the N/A transmission don't hold up too long. Feel free to PM me prices. |
I'll let you know once the engine is apart and I know what condition the parts are in. I expect the rotors will be in great shape. I had all even bumps on compression tests so there weren't any blown seals.
I'm not sure when I'll get to it. I have my rebuilt one that I need to decide on if I'll do rats nest removal or not. Engine needs to go in and some wiring issues worked out (electric fan and new gauges, N/A to turbo conversion for the TPS). My goal is to have the engine in and exhaust on by end of the weekend. Have it running by next weekend...depending on how busy work keeps me. Then I hope to have time to teardown the n/a. |
Maf
Would you be interested in selling the MAF and how much shipped to 36167
Thanks, Charles |

Do you still have the S5 NA engine wiring harness for sale?

IIRC the only one in decent shape is my previous N/A to Turbo harness. I've made a couple changes to that one. The VDI solenoid harness was changed to Duty Solenoid for the turbo wastegate. I also patched in a good water thermosensor harness. The one on the back of the water pump housing. Also IIRC I patched in a better CAS harness. The VDI would be an easy change back if you know a little about soldering. The patch I made for the water thermosensor is a good thing. It was hardened, dry and cracking, now it's all better. Same thing with the CAS, it was dry cracking, etc. The other N/A harnesses I have were in worse shape and I've used them for parts repairing the harness I was talking about. Give me some time to finish up my swap and make sure I won't need the harnesses for anything. Once I know for sure I'll post up a price. |
Racing Beat full N/A exhaust
One big thing I forgot to put in the title. I have a full downpipe back RB exhaust that's in damn good shape. I have
1) Downpipe from manifold w/presilencer http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1...nts/16217.html 2) Catback http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1992/Cat-Back-Exhausts/16420.html It's in great shape. A little bit of surface rust where the y-pipe meets. A little bit of surface rust on the presilencer. I was using it before my original turbo swap. Then it sat in storage till my father's N/A exhaust went out. It was on his vert and lightly driven for a little while. Like the transmissions, I REALLY don't want to ship this but will at your expense. $500 OBO for the complete exhaust. At this point I WILL NOT SPLIT UP THE EXHAUST. Do not ask unless you have a buyer for the parts you don't want. If some time goes buy and it hasn't sold I'll start to consider splitting. |
How much for the S5 N/A rotors?
|
Hey can I buy your TPS?
