S5 N370 Rtek 1.7 and Duty Solenoid Removal

When removing the duty/boost solenoid should I depin it from the ECU? And should I remove it at all?

My build is in my signature. S5 JDM engine, N370 Rtek 1.7, RB REV TII exhaust, Hallman MBC. I've removed all the solenoids accept the PRC. I've got the rats nest on but with vacuum caps on everything no longer used.

I'm planning to depin 2M which is the VDI on N/A and knock on turbos. Should I depin 3R (Duty/Boost Solenoid)? Or with the Rtek should I be keeping the boost solenoid intact?

I'm not too sure about the Rtek 1.7, but I do know that with the Rtek 2.x I'm running on my S5T2 N370, all the functionality of the stock boost control solenoid is retained, and if I disconnect the solenoid electrically, the CE light will eventually go on and the ECU stores a code #42. So you'll probably want to keep it electrically connected and just mechanically bypass the solenoid.

BTW, does Hallman MBC = manual boost controller?

Yes MBC= manual boost controller

My plan was to depin the wiring for the solenoid at the ECU. That would keep me from getting any CELs. My understanding is that if you have aftermarket boost control you want to remove that solenoid. But you have kept yours. I'm assuming you are running bigger than OEM turbo boost and that you also have some aftermarket boost control?

If you depin the solenoid at the ECU, it will still see it as an open circuit, so I'd guess you'll still get the CE light.

I probably should start another thread to ask about boost control. Right now, I'm still running the stock boost control solenoid setup, and unfortunately the Rtek 2.x doesn't let you tweak the boost limit. My setup boosts up to about 8.5 psi with a turbo & exhaust setup similar to yours - BNR stage 1 turbo into RB DP, RB presilencer & Borla catback. With the BNR turbo wastegate porting, the stock boost control is very effective - it spools up quickly, and consistently doesn't go beyond the set boost limit, with no creep or spikes seen in the logs. So now I just want to raise that boost set point a little bit to about 10psi.
