stock oil pump
 

I was comparing my TII oil pump and the FD oil pump and the only real difference I can find is the cavity at the lower portion of the pump.

Why was this added and what is its advantage over the TII oil pump with no cavity?

Also, is there any difference in the front cover oil pressure regulator between the FD and FC? I know the FD has a higher pressure rear regulator...
