They are quite wide, like Adler said. Depending on what year yours is it might be easy or hard.

Either way, custom brackets are required. If you bought leather powered seats, then you will need to wire them in as well.

Start with a plasma cutter, spot weld cutter, 4.5" angle grinder with sanding and cut-off discs, BFH, and a few feet of .125" or .185" thick steel maybe 1.25" wide.

Cut off ALL the mounting tabs for the RX8 seats.

Build new brakets

Weld to seat rails

Paint

sit in seats

???????

Profit!!!

Try 8. I've done a few RX8 seat installs, they all take between 6-8 hrs of work. Granted I've got a few different levels going and it takes a while to get the car itself plumb, but still. Its alot of work. Comfy fucking seats though. I'm old, I have a bad back and knees and I drove in that car fofor6 hrs straight, got out and felt great.

+1

It takes way longer than that to do it right... especially while tack welding in the car with full carpet surrounded by wet towels... :o11:

I was really disappointed in my seats because I thought I messed up the seat height. Then I realized the drivers seat was all out of adjustment and all was well. One seat leaned just a little farther back makes a big difference!

All very true. Plus, the way I did it in the FC was to build a whole new bracket welded to the floor....

didn't mean to put 3 not sure why haha, it took paul and charles most of a day to get one in. I was "slightly" medicated this morning to say the least so yea what little paul and tttttt said

425motorsports has seat brackets. I was able to still use the rx8 sliders, and electronic adjustments. Couple washers to raise the height of the drivers side to it moved without hitting, and the passenger side sits a bit higher, but I love the seats. My wife is 5'3" so she likes the seat that way.
