My friend is willing to trailer the car to the border at Coutts for crossing at Sweetgrass for $500-$600 to cover the fuel.

I'll take off $500 from the price to cover the shipping to the border at Coutts. Hopefully that will make it easier for someone to make the deal.

It would be fairly easy to import as it is over 20yrs old there is no duty on the car. Just need to get the paperwork to Customs 3 days in advance of crossing.
