Godspeed FMIC Kit Fitment Issues
I'm converting my '86 N/A to a 6 port turbo. I bought the Godspeed FMIC kit off ebay (Greddy copy) and am having trouble fitting it in between the power steering and shock tower. It's also pushing the brake reservoir over quite a bit. Does anyone have pics of this setup where they were able to retain the PS?

Turbo
Who needs PS, didn't have an issue with Sheeba, but then again, Sheeba is CUSTOM.
Good luck, and I have your BOV still. |
I forgot about the blow off valve lol. I'll probably end up taking it off, but for now to keep things simple I'd rather not change something else around. I also don't have a manual rack so it's not as sexy as Curby.

Here's a couple pics of the PS pump and piping. The lines on the pump have already been bent quite a bit. I know there's different PS pumps and I'm thinking perhaps the early 86 ones are fatter? :dunno:

They stole it from the Trust / GReddy kit, so it's the same fitment issues in the same areas.

Cool. So....?

We end up chopping the TB end of the pipe slightly so that it clears the brake master cylinder and pushing the pipe further toward the engine, and squashing the front end of the pipe by the power steering pump vertically (clamp sides) to clear the stupid power steering pump.
Be very careful when doing this, as once you cut too much, the pipe is useless. -Ted |
Do you use the A/C often? I pulled mine out and reloacted the P/S pump where the compressor goes. My previous setup had the same issue, had to heat up and dint the pipe to make it fit.

i did the same as RE Ted. but i didnt cut the throttle body elbow. mine just pushes on the reservoir. no leaks yet after 5 months of it. so...come to think of it ill probably cut that elbow when i come home actually

I was going to attempt to keep my A/C I even pulled the dash out and made sure all the ducting was sealed but then I brought the bloody W2A cooler and decided I'd have to move the rad foward which ment moving the A/C parts so I said fuck it and binned it all. I figured I'm only going to drive it on weekends now (also why I decided to bridgeport) so I can put up with some discomfort haha |

I had to cut the pipe up some to make it fit and dent it in a few spots.
