Fuel pump bulkhead connector re-wire

I'm in the process of re-wiring my fuel pump. New relay, 12 ga wire, 20 amp fuse, direct battery signal, new chasis ground, stock switched 12V relay source and relay ground is triggered by the ECU (Haltech Sprint RE). I've got everything in a laid out but I'm stuck at the bulkhead connector at the fuel pump. The stock fuel pump wires are like 16 ga. I don't want to run all this nice, new 12 ga wire just to have it neck down at the bulkhead connector to the old, crusty stock wires. Is there any way to re-pin the stock connector, and if so, what type? Alternatively I could replace the stock connector or make a new one but I've been unsuccessful at finding a universal, water-proof, vapor-proof connector that can handle up to 20 amps and 12 ga wire.

Get a multipin connector and dedicate 4 pins to 12+ and ground, two per each to distribute the load. That way you can get away with smaller pins and thinner gauge requirements for those pins.

Great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of this...
