New to RCC - Another Alberta member

Hi guys,
Little about me and how I ended up here. I started out using a different rx7/rotary specific forum but then was told the this site was a great community/resource as well. Being as it's Friday, and I'm bored at work and stuck here for another hour, I decided to sign up!

About my car - it's a 93 JDM FD, was imported by a dealer about 4 and a half years ago. I am the second Canadian owner and have had the car for about a year and a half but have serious intentions of holding on to it for much longer. It's a touring edition, red leather interior, however the rear has been stripped and I now have some black Brides in the front and I plan to get some black door panels as well. I like the red but a change is nice. I could go on and on about the car so I'll try to save some time for everyone and just say that this summer I hope to have it rebuilt, ported and converted to single with a power goal of 500rwhp.
When things get rolling I will post a build thread but it won't compare to some other stuff I've seen on this site! Then again - it's not about comparing to others, it's just about doing what you enjoy.

Lastly, a little bit about myself, I'm 20 years old, in my 3rd year of a co-op petroleum co-op engineering degree at the University of Alberta, and currently on an 8 month co-op work term. Hence why I have a little extra to drop on a very impractical car! Never the less, I'm hoping to get everything going by purchasing a new dd this weekend.

See you around, everyone!

Welcome Mitch. I think we may have met once, years ago.

I would imagine it will also be much nicer to drive in the snow than the FD as well.

DriFD3S 06-24-2012 10:07 PM

^^^ FD's should NEVER see snow.

Truth right there. Even if it's in bad shape, one should still respect the name plate and bring it back up to speed.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Conroy's first FD drift car before it became his drift car, not registrable due to the front end being constructed out of square tubing. Driving this thing at that event was some of the most fun I've had in a car in the winter.

Probably not the best car you could choose for a winter DD though haha.

speedjunkie 06-25-2012 12:43 AM

Awesome. I bought a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE last year to be my DD. Love that thing.

Good choice.

Wow, that was a really interesting read. Thank you very much for the thought provoking insight.
