I'm a newbie at this forum and i need help with parts for my 1974 rotary mazda pickup
I have a 1974 mazda rotary pickup that i recently aquired and i know nothing about rotary engines. to make a long story short. i was told that to get the truck running i need to put a whole new exhaust on it because it was completely missing (somebody saw the truck sitting and obviously needed that part). I do have the exhaust manifold but nothing from there on. Is there a cheaper alternative to the hundreds of dollars that the parts stores want? anyone here maybe have one for sale? and something about a thermal reactor? Please help

it would be better to install a good header and have a local muffler shop fab up an exhaust for you.. the truck will have more power, sound better, less heat than with the stock exhaust.

You don't need a thermal reactor unless you are concerned about emissions. You can ditch the OEM exhaust manifold, the air pump, and all the other junk. Most REPU owners install a Racing Beat header, silencer, and muffler. Racing Beat doesn't sell a kit specifically for the REPU but you can contact them to make sure you get the right parts and then have a local shop fabricate all the connecting pipes. In short, you're probably looking at close to $1000 to get your truck running. Do not attempt to simply install run of the mill exhaust components. The rotary engine will eat through them very quickly.
