Illicit Performance...an introduction
Founded in 2007, we're a small shop located near Palm Springs, California. We specialize in the Mazda rotary engine, from the 12A to 20B, naturally aspirated to boosted race engines. If you've been to the Sevenstocks of years past, there's a good chance you've seen our work in the Courtyard.
We offer full rotary building services, including porting, EMS installation and tuning, chassis dyno services, general maintenance and repair, and light fabrication work. We also work on piston engine vehicles, with an emphasis on Japanese sports cars of the '80s and '90s. We also specialize in the Toyota Supra and 2JZ powerplant. With our Dynocom 5000 dyno, we offer full tuning services for cars and motorcycles. We are experienced with Haltech, AEM, Motec, Microtech, Electromotive, and A'pexi Power-FC engine management systems, and also with HP Tuners, Hondata, Cobb, Dynojet Power Commander, and Two Bros Juice Box systems. Feel free to contact us anytime! 760-671-5817, sales@illicitperformance.com. Thanks for checking us out! |
I personally stand by Glenn and Kev of Illicit Performance. They have taken cared of me as well as a lot of fellow rotorheads that I have referred there, and been referred by. He also has quite the package . . . . so be sure to bring a ballgag and some slippery sauce.
On the real though, the shop is legit and they do AMAZING work. They've also fixed edited to remove other shops name other shop's garbage work. |
I've had Illicit do a number of things on my car, Haltech install, FFE install, Tune, apexi avcr. Great guy!

Agreed, Glenn and Kevin are great guys running a good honest shop. I've found that this is becoming a rarity in this day in age when everybody else is only interested in getting the most money for the least amount of work. Ethics and honesty make these guys stand out among their competition.
And that dyno is something else!! Glenn can fine tune anything from high-HP FD's and LSx engines to liter-bikes. Hell, he can even help squeeze extra ft/lbs out of a 1-speed Schwinn!! |
