you can see that ive already tried scraping away some of what ever this is (w/ plastic putty knife). anyone know how i can remove this stuff with out totally ruining the paint? havent totally decided whether or not to keep the bay stock color or to go black.

i was thinking of maybe using a heat gun and a scraper of some sort. all the wiring loom and what not will be replaced so im not too worried about that.

one thing i did notice that threw me off a little bit, one fender has the coating... while the other doesnt. hmm.


edit: also... just found out my car is infested with yellow jackets... ouch!

Dry ice is the one most used. It seems to be the most effective of getting rid of it.

if i cannot get access to dry ice, is there a 2nd best?

Some sort of solvent or elbow grease.

Another option might be liquid nitrogen, which may or may not be harder to find.
