Should I use or loose this iron?

I just bought this from someone and immediately regretted my decision. If I did choose to use it, will I see a significant lose of compression or even worse damage to the corner seal? http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...psff34c77c.jpghttp://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps32fcb8c0.jpghttp://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps7554fe3a.jpghttp://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa9df51cf.jpg

Wow that sucks man. that looks unusable. I know how you feel I recently bought a rotor that was dropped during shipping.

Pretty big dirtbag of a seller to knowingly sell a bad iron. I wouldn't use it. What iron/engine is this?

Allegedly part of a Ortiz racing block that blew a seal. I guess they let it sit for way too long and good ole corrosion occurred. It's a !3BRE iron. I was trying to avoid buying a brand new one and after searching for a while I finally found this one.

Local? And I think I know where one is, front/rear/middle? A friend is selling his track FD in the spring and has 2-6 motors around his shop. At least two are 13bre.

*Does that look re-ground and poorly recoated to anyone else?

To me it looks like pitting corrosion from coolant that occurred prior to lapping.
It's from a fella in WA. We've resolved the issue in a respectable manner.

yeah i wouldn't use it, doesn't appear to have been re-nitrided and the amount of material removed is probably already beyond spec.

i doubt it would harm compression or the seals however but everything combined is just too risky. looks like typical rust from water sitting in an engine for a year or longer.
