Ga8rFan 04-17-2008 11:12 AM

i have noticed no matter how fast you are really going all the videos i have seen thus far look like the people are traveling in a 15mph school zone...

Herblenny 04-17-2008 11:51 AM

Its the way the camera is mounted and the lense. I recently found out you need wide angle lense to make it feel like you are going FAST!! i'm going to do some search and get one of these:)

dregg100 04-17-2008 11:52 AM

vids in the mountains always look really slow. they were probably going 20-60ish through that.

Towards the end we're verbally man loving Herblenny and all the effort he has put into organizing DGRR.

Next time I need to get a 20% fish eye lense to get a better perspective of the speed or get a racecam setup with two pencil cameras and a built in G-sensor. ;)

My videos are more from my GF trying to hold on and hold a camera - they arent pretty.

SPiN Racing 04-21-2008 07:09 PM

Yes the camera lense I think is everything.. because my vid from last year looks like we were going SOOO SLOW. And really.. I wasnt!!!
I mean.. open road in front of me.. I was pushing the 1st gen pretty hard in the video. About 85 percent. Enough margin to recover, and or evade, but not slow enough for most stuff to keep up for long.
The sad part.. I watch it on youtube, and GAWD it looks slow.

That is the main reason I didnt bother bringing the cam this year. I knew once I had free road, and could lay into it a bit, it would still look like Im driving a bigwheel.

Loved the Queensryche in that vid!

Nutsid 04-22-2008 02:39 AM

I love the videos. You may not get a feel for just how fast the cars are moving, but it gives you a great idea of the scenery you drive through. Absolutely beautiful.
