Autocrossing results!

The autocross today was AWESOME! John and I both got 8 runs. The RX-7 ended up with a 44.795 best time (John got 43.887 in his 400HP 2005 GTO). We were smack in the middle of the pack. The weather held and the sun even came out!

If you haven't tried autocrossing, you will want to. It's the most fun you can possibly have in a car legally (...while actually driving...).

Oh and the RX-7 went 16.34@85 in the 1/4 with a 2.6 60', the clutch is just dying! We're going to change it out this week for more racing. (Raced Friday night with 22 passes in the 'Vic, Saturday night with 7 passes bracket racing in the RX-7, and then 8 autocross runs today, next weekend is PIR TNT Fri and Sat night and Woodburn Import Shootout on Saturday)

More to come later, I need a damn nap!!! :driving:

Here's some pics from today! It was a blast! 8 runs through the course kicked butt :driving: . Next event is in 3 weeks and we are definitely both going back! :icon_tup:

was it run in the 1/4 mile pits? hows the pavement/surface?
i've only raced in the paddock, and the pavement there kinda sucks.. theres a part mid corner where wheels leave the ground.

We ran in the drag pits area. It looked bad on the walk-around but it was actually pretty smooth and had decent traction. There is a spot where you transition over to the lot where the skid cars are and a lot of lowered cars were catching air (it was at the end of a straight) including me. The course was very wide, sweeping, and FAST. Definitely favored the RWD/High-HP setups!

That's the one. Registration online starts in a week, maybe a little more? I will be there for sure.

If you liked autox, you should definitely try HPDE.

P71 05-07-2008 09:44 AM

Oh I will be. In the 'Vic first though, it's already been around the road course ;)
