EDIT: Brake Troubles.
Ok, so I am in the middle of putting my vert back on the road, and ran across an issue with picking up a brake master cylinder.
For some reason, my 1991 car came with an S4 master cylinder, which leaked all over the place and went to shit, and most places like auto zone only carry ones that come without the reservoir. I found some on ebay, but they are either also S4, or come for cars with adjustable suspension or abs. Adj suspension: i dunno if I should worry about it, but I know ABS cars are different somehow. Here's a few that I am considering: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brake...spagenameZWD1V http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...dot-45105.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...157146426&rd=1 What do you think? The Centric one looks weird, but I think that that's a "stock" photo of it. The first one is the one for adjustable suspension btw, doesnt look that different. Also, are the turbo and N/A ones different? I read that they are. |
I have an S5 TII one in storage somewhere. If they're the same I can send it to you, just pay the shipping and paypal fees. I don't think it's too used but i can take pics if they're the same. Let me take a look at the FSM.

aas master cylinders have a threaded port with a sensor that goes in it to determine braking pressure to adjust the suspension.

Straight from Mazdatrix.
http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=43-400D-FB02 Apparently, all master cylinders on non turbo, non AAS cars are all the same from 86 - 91. Remember that Mazdatrix is the answer to a LOT of questions when searching for parts. |
Well, since the vert comes with 4 pot brakes, (no abs, and without the adj. suspension) it should be the same as a turbo one so I would love that. Also, what are these "paypal fees" you are talking about, phoenix? I have a premier account (seller and buyer) and never had to pay these yet...)

third question: SS brake lines. Should I get just the $89 corksort lines or are the goodridge g stop ones better? I dont care about DOT approved, just that they dont fall apart. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stain...mZ380044366310 http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories EDIT: Thanks for clearing that up, boost! But still, if you have 4 pot brakes with vented rears on your NA, wouldnt the turbo MC be the same as well because the brake system is the same? |
woops...double post.

AAS equipped S5's all have the 4 pistons calipers, so they are the same MC as the TII's and Verts. Her ya go: Beck/Arnley item #072-8430 www.beckcatalog.com Get one and you are supporting yours truly! |
so i will probably just get phoenix's one or get the beck then. I used their thermostat, and it passed the boiling water test just fine!
