My first half bridge :)
I started today. I gave it about 4 hours of work
No work on the bowl or manifold side port ... yet Im using a dremmel and a small carbide bit. Its all I was able to find http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2...2008603uk4.jpg http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1...2008604ge5.jpg ok, here we go http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/3...2008605ej9.jpg and this is as far as I was able to go today http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/5...2008619xo2.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/5...2008620dy1.jpg |
damn, I don't know much about porting so I can't really tell if it's good or bad. How far along are you?

A dremel is slow, but less chance of making a major error.
I also like the tape covering the area you don't want to hit. Those carbide bits can jump out of the hole, one hit in the wrong spot can ruin the plate. They can jump without warning, even when you have used them for years. When it comes to porting, getting in a hurry is the fastest way to make mistakes. Take your time, and it should turn out good. Just remember that the entire port area needs to be shaped as smooth as possible to acheive the best flow pattern. I'm guessing you are planning to street port the center iron, since you say it's a 1/2 bridge. What type of induction are you planning to run? |

I got a set of cbr600rr itbs. They are 40mm and came with a nice tps and 8 injectors I already have a megasquirt |
Looks like fun.

Looks good, good shape for now, still probably need to do the backcutting and smooth it out, but should make for some fun!
Go FULL bridge :) 1/2 bridges are for quitters! |

:) I think I will finish this engine probably mid next year |

are you planning on turbocharging later on down the road? just curious as to why you decided on a half bridge instead of full.
all in all it looks like it's all coming together. let me echo the sentiment that you should take your time. it's best to make sure it's done right as opposed to just "done". |
I wont go turbo later on.
I plan on cracking open this engine at least a couple of times, so if I see fit going full bridge later on .... hehehe I will. I will stay with the h bridge + 100shot of NOS for now. |
On my last 1st gen, i ran the same setup that you are going with....1/2 bridge and 100 shot. The 150 shot was insane. I also planned to go turbo, but couldn't come off of the spray. You can read more about my old setup here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/852654. Looks good so far, I'm sure that you will have a blast with it when you are finished.
