FS: Complete engine with new harness and housing.

I have for sale an engine with housing with only 100 miles. Engine harness also only has 100 miles. Come with the stock twinturbo, UIM, LIM, and stock flywheel. Well, basically the whole engine. I have never sell a whole engine before, so, ask me if you have any questions.

Parts in the engine:
Engine (Housing with 100 miles)
Atkins seal.
UIM, LIM, Turbo, alternator, flywheel, coilpack.
Engine harness with 100 miles.
Both engine mount.
Fuel injector.
All the selenoids.
What you see is what you get. Will ship the engine on the wooden pallet.

I would take the engine apart and put new seal if I were to use the engine. Also maybe put new silicon hoses for the rat nest. It is up to the buyer. Basically it is good for some one that have time to rebuild.

Asking price: $2000 OBO +shipping.

PM me for any questions.

Why would it need new seals after only 100 miles? Was it a blown engine?

johgar 09-23-2008 09:44 AM

The seals stuck, froze. won't turn over. I guess it would be better if took the engine apart, which was my plan.

It is rare for an engine to seize up with out some internal damage. I guess it can happen but I have personally never experience it. Any time one was completely seized it was usually due to a bearing failure or extreme rust from coolant seal failure.

I am interested in the parts if you pull apart hte shortblock and inspect hte parts.

The car that the engine came from sat for a while. Then when tried to start it, it won't turn. And, the owner took the engine out instead of try to un-freeze it.

What parts would you like? I am trying to sell the engine as a whole first. But I am keeping an eye for what parts people need.

I would want the whole shortblock and possibly the wiring harness. It is very very rare to have one carbon lock after 100 miles after rebuild. I would assume there is some damage and some reason the guy just stopped driving the car 100 miles after a rebuild.

Remove the turbos and manifold and get a light and inspect for damage. Run your fingers inside the exhaust port all around the edges to detect any damaged caused by a broken apex seal.

Bump!!!.
I have it apart to the short block. Turbo has no shaft play. UIM, LIM, TB(with TPS), Primary and secondary fuel rail and injectors are in good condition. Coil, selenoid, also available.Main engine harness is not crispy, it is soft. only has 100 miles.
Look into the housing from exhaust port, the exhaust ports are smooth, no damage.
I would want to sell the short block as a whole now.
