Wasabi!!!

My name is Kyle, I am from Lakeland, FL. I got started in the rotary world while browsing craigslist one day back in April of 2006. I was looking for a project car but actually something more along the lines of a nova,camaro,etc.. when I ran across an ad that said "1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II" $400." So with out hesitation I went to look at it. Quickly realized it was not a turbo anything, but it had amazing body lines and a pretty cool hood and wing. lol so I offered the guy 350, we settled on like 380, and loaded her up on a car dolly and took her home.

I spent the next 6 months soaking up all of the rotary knowledge I could. Since I didn't really know anything about them other than growing up living around the track here in Lakeland, and listening to what the locals called "Puerto Rican Night". I'd been to the track a lot and seen what the rotaries were capable of and something about that brap brap sound made my hear sputter even more than a camed over V-8. I had several friends growing up that had first gens so there was always something about even the first gens that I loved. Anyway like a lot of you here the vast majority of my fledgling/padwan days were spent in rx7club.com, nopistons.com, teamfc3s.org and every other rotary based site and pretty much read and researched as much as I could absorb. I've made mistakes like buying a jdm TII motor off of eBay before I was ready to put it in a car. I've bitten off more than I can chew and I will continue to learn and stretch.

Anyway currently I have the 87 coupe that will be a constant project currently it is waiting body work and paint. After researching the VIN found out it was never a TII and that's ok because I only paid 380 for it and it is a very solid shell. And I also have an 88 vert. I traded the jdm motor and tranny for the vert. and currently am working on making the vert my daily driver.

Thanks to Kevin for the invite to the boards I look forward to getting my full project and pics up ASAP.

Thursday and Saturdays are Test and tune nights. usually plenty of rotary action those nights. It's outlaw racing so pretty much anything is fair game. bracket racing which is not my favorite, but hey you deal with what you got right? There is a big event the 19th. $15 bucks to get in kids under 12 are free, gates open at 8:am!!
