GSL-SE issues

Alright,So the car is getting spark,is getting gas.
AMF is plugged in.

Car will turn over all day long but will not catch and run.
Car was only moved 10ft and parked, i have been through the un flooding process twice (just to be sure) motor has compression.

any ideas??? or pointers?

How did you determine that she's getting gas? Have you confirmed that the injectors are firing?

What procedure did you use to de-flood? You might want to try squirting some Seafoam into the spark plug holes, then trying again. That will usually deflood any rotary in short order...

pull the fuel pump fuse (BOTH OF THEM from the strip on the drivers fender)

pull out the plugs and crank the engine over for atleast 10 seconds. do this a few times till there is no more misting comming out of the plug holes.

add a touch of engine oil into the leading plug holes (both rotors)

put the plugs back in (make sure they are not wet, clean with a lighter)
put the fuses back in and crank it over

that should help deflood it.

Make sure your spark plugs are not fouled as well.

HellBent 11-04-2008 04:02 PM

Whole car has everything sitting here for a full tune up, the car has a 2nd gen fuse block,so the EGI fuse is a easy thing with un-flooding as well as removing the lower plugs.

SteveO 11-04-2008 09:17 PM

Check, check, and recheck your fuse blocks. Pull them and check all the connections. (Interior and under the hood) I had the same problem when I had my SE and it was the fuse panel wiring.
A little electric cleaner and a wire brush fixed the problem.

HellBent 11-05-2008 05:02 PM

All fuse block fuses and under dash fuses checked, woke up kinda late and had a girl over, will do the full tune up during the day tomorrow.

HellBent 11-06-2008 06:45 PM

Ok the full tune up has been done, everything checked. Found one of the wires from the coil to the distributer had a cooked, and broken clip that goes into the coil.

Car will turn over all day long but STILL will not catch and run.
Motor has GOOD compressions numbers.

Ive gone over everything i can think of, and nothings working out..

anyone want to come over? i got beer, food and can throw ya some cash for gas...lmao..

This is my DD and ive been FUCKING STUCK AT HOME OVER A WEEK!!! AHHHHH!!

Phoenix7 11-06-2008 06:50 PM

main relay? I think everything is the main relay. Maybe the coils aren't getting juice?

HellBent 11-06-2008 07:08 PM

Well the plug wires are getting spark, trust me.. i cooked a finger tip.
I will throw on a spare set of coils tomorrow, just to see if it helps at all..

This is starting to piss me off.

Phoenix7 11-06-2008 07:09 PM

the good thing is that if you beat on the GSL-SE it won't call the cops.

Good luck man. Are you sure you're getting fuel and no vac leaks are present?

HellBent 11-06-2008 07:16 PM

This is true, but my neighbors might call them for me acting crazy.

Kentetsu 11-06-2008 10:00 PM

Try the Seafoam...

HellBent 11-07-2008 03:21 PM

Picked up some Seafoam, and its raining!!! and my other project car is in the garage! *fuck fuck fuck*
