My S4 GXL

Here are some pics of my 1987 Mazda RX-7 GXL. It's a break-in victim I'm going to be turning into a summer and autocross toy. It's a little scruffy and has some minor mechanical and electrical issues to be dealt with, but the price was right, there's almost no rust on the body or suspension, and the car has a 10K-mile rebuilt 13B in it. The white specks are dried tree sap spots.

One of the things I have to address is the hatch-to-body seal. I cleaned out the drain holes yesterday and patched up the seal with duck tape as a temporary solution, till I get a new one. If you can't duck it, fuck it.

It'll also need a repaint, eventually:

And now, for what's left of the interior:

I recently resoldered the horn relay. The P.O. installed another horn and rigged it to work off of a doorbell. You can also see the knifed ignition. I have to use a screwdriver to help start the car. It almost looks like I'm hotwiring my own car.

Note the Razo shift knob so I'm not tearing up my hand on the threads when I shift:

The relays in the wiper switch are toast. I'm waiting for new ones to arrive. Until then, I'm using the P.O's Mickey-Moused wiper switch:

Good stuff. The body looks straight, so at least you have a good base to start with.

car is pretty clean and and all. The little stuff is no big deal. If your in need of any parts, on the interior let me know.

Thanks. I have a line on some S5 center console pieces, but if the deal falls through, I'll let you know. I'm more concerned about the mechanical issues I have to address. The weather has been uncooperative lately, so I'll do interior work on those days and mechanical work on clear days.
