I'm def. in on the Nashville one. Maybe the Autobahn and Carolina Motorsports Park. Just have to see.

WOW! That's pretty cool!
|
Ahh yes...they held a competition at the Nashville Superspeedway when Import Alliance hosted the gathering in 08...lots of heavy hitters were there ie. Chris Rado and some other Japanese names I can't pronounce.
|
nice! Good looking out.

I emailed the event director to see what configuration they run at Nashville. I'm pretty sure it's the same one that the mustang club runs by watching the video's he sent me. Here are two video's of the Nashville configuration for anyone interested:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=WzfFiNEtkdQ http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZyceB3ASByg I read the rules last night just to see what to see how everything is classed. I'm pretty sure if I throw a hi flow cat and street tires on my T78 I can run the "street class" :D Dan, I'm pretty sure you could lay waste to the street class. |
Just confirmed that you can put any turbo you want and can still run street class. Also, street porting does not qualify as a "major" upgrade. So streetports are good to go in the street class as well.
|
I'll be competing at the following events:
Buttonwillow Raceway, CA – March 28th- 29th Willow Springs Raceway, CA – May 29th- 30th Spring Mountain Motorsports Park, NV September 26th-27th Auto Club Speedway, CA – November 14th – 15th I'll be in Street RWD class in my FD |
really??? Any turbo still allows you to be in the STREET CLASS?

You should definitely do all the East divisions, to get a feel for the competition and where you stand. I hope I can at least break the current FD record at a few of these tracks. I'll be very very lucky to even get into the top 3... if I don't blow up, that is  Luckily not too many Mazda's compete in street RWD, so I should be able to snatch up $800, which should cover all my entry fees for that year :) |

$800 isn't bad. They still require the mazdaspeed decals, right? |
Same here, I will be competeting in all the west coast events. See you at the track Andrew. :driving: Oh, and your going have your work cut out for you on getting that $800 bucks. ;)
http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/08/11/time-attack-rec/ And yes you have to run the decals and the patch if your wearing Nomex. Quote:

Sounds like you guys will have a blast. Yeah, I've looked into a little each year. I think the first year no one really knew about it and was kind of a last minute thing. As you guys said, I expect there to be alot more cars out there this year. I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to do the series. I'll def. do Nashville because I'm never going to turn down an event that is only an hour from my house, but I'm undecided on the rest of them. Autobahn and CMP are both around 8 hours from my house. My main priority this year is getting everything lined up to do NASA TT next year.
Anyone know of a good street tire with at least a 140 tread wear rating that comes in 285/30/18? I know Adam is running the RE-01R's... wish they made them a little wider. Any word on the new Nitto's? |

I guess since we're on the subject of track events and since safety goes in line with it... would anybody have a lead on a Raceshop roll bar FS? Or Larry's contact info? I really don't want to do Big Willow or Cali Speedway without having a roll bar. Especially Cali Speedway since I'll probably be hitting 160+ |
Kuhmo XS come in 275s, seems like their on par with the RE01Rs and AD07s through tire rack performance reviews.
Another one seems to be the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. What a dumb name, but if it get's the job done, whateve's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=EP |
