ZE v6

Hey guys has this swap ever been done? i know the drivetrain would work with this engine but would it be worth doing? i mean how is the after market and so forth?

ZE is which engine? I'm wanting to think 350z? If so, I saw an FD in a mag with the swap done a while back.

sorry should have said that but yea the mx-6 v6

Wouldn't be worth the trouble. That engine is VERY much designed to be FWD.

Better options if you wanted to keep it Mazda are:
-MS Miata engine
-FE3
-F2T

All of which are 4 cylinder, only the MS and F2 are boosted, and the F2 is only SOHC.

In other words, its cheaper to make power with a rotary.

Not in an FC that I am aware of, but in B-series truck it has been done many times.

For RWD configuration you would need:
-B2200 trans, clutch, flywheel, starter
-custom mounts

To run it you would need:
-EDIS conversion (trigger wheel based ignition)
-custom flange to swap the intake around (it faces the firewall, the intake is 2-piece, so this is not as hard as it sounds)
-thermostat housing from a 323 (stock thermostat housing will hit the firewall)
-Megasquirt or similar stand alone ECU

To make power you need:
-FMIC
-hybrid turbo (For T-bird turbo)
-550cc injectors (FC injectors are direct swap)
-Custom exhaust

If you want to do it, I suggest you buy my '89 626 Turbo as a starting point :)

I do what I can. It also helps to have both cars in your driveway.
