wow, no interest...that's interesting.

SLOASFK 03-15-2008 01:02 AM

I'm very interested, just that my need for suspension and turbo work supercedes the desire for the oil cooler kit for now...

manveru 03-15-2008 08:28 AM

same here, i happen to be very interested, but a tune+cage+body work session needs to be completed and paid for before this.

:) Maybe you should try to run the GB again next winter when people are shutting the cars down for winter upgrades/maintnence.

not sure if you know about other dual cooler kits on the market... but how does your setup compare vs the mocal mazdatrix setup? i'd like to know which is better, is it worth me spending the extra $90. are your cores larger? also, the mazdatrix setup includes stainless lines i think, do you recommend your standard line? or the stainless option? thanks for the input :). i'd like to find the optimum setup for my fd..

McVicker 03-21-2008 07:56 AM

The Mazdatrix kit appears to use 19 row oil coolers, ours use 25 row (much more expensive). I don't know much about the Mazdatrix kit, but from the pictures it looks like the lines are not pre-made, and you have to make your own brackets to mount the coolers. Our kit comes with pre-made lines to the correct sizes, and brackets to mount the coolers and thermostat, which will save a TON of time during install.

Personally I like the standard line better then stainless, they look OEM in my opinion. Also the standard lines are a little easier to work with. The only time you would not be able to use the standard line was if you were running a dry-sump oil system. It comes down to personal preference, some people like the stainless lines better. I don't like to give a biased opinion, but our kit is complete and ready to install. The Mazdatrix kit looks like it's more of a DIY kit. :)
