My 20B Cosmo

I wanted to start a new thread and post about the transformation of my 20B Cosmo, some info, and build..

Info:

About the Cosmo...

Eunos is a Mazda's luxury division.. kind of like Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, etc..

Eunos Cosmo 20B is first for a lot of things in automotive world.. The top of the line model came with 1st ever touch screen central control unit (controls AC, TV, and GPS). Cosmo was also the first car to have sequential twin turbo system and first and ONLY car to have the famous 3 rotor engine...

Now my car..

1991 Eunos Cosmo 20B Type-S (built date by Dave from DHMR was Aug of 90.. tag on the car, 10/90... USA its consider 1991 model but Japan and Australia 1990 model).

Color- Black with Black interior. Far as I know, its the only Type-S model in USA and only Black on Black.

I believe all the other street legal Cosmos in USA are the ones with the GPS and such.. Only problem I see with those are that the GPS doesn't work here in US, and you can't get rid of the central unit as it also controls the climate control.. Mine, I could get rid of it and get an updated, modern GPS headunit (which I'll be putting one later on).

Here are some pics when it still lived in Japan:)

For DGRR, I ended up putting on my Forgeline ZX3 18x8 front and 18x9 rear with 245/40 front and 275/35 rear.

Then I realized its near impossible to get parts for these cars.. as I was looking for a spare passenger sider mirror..

Luckily Bryan from BNR was looking for a 3 rotor engine and I ended up going in with him to buy a whole front clip of Eunos Cosmo..

Over next few days, I've completely tore the cosmo down to bare frame...

After this, I wanted to update the Cosmo by putting in one of my spare RX8 seats.. But that attempt failed as the 8 seats were sightly wider...

My Cosmo exhaust was pretty cool in that it had an actuator to open up the second tip at high RPM. But the whole system was rusted out and leaked everywhere, I got it patched up by Todd from No Limit.. But it was still leaking and I think my cat was clogged up..

I contacted one of the top fabricator in Alabama, Walker Morgan at Morgan Performance Fabrication (http://www.mpfab.com/). Walker had built several show cars and performance car exhausts and many locals have recommended him. After talking to him, he decided to take on the Cosmo and built a 3inch, full exhaust, dolphin tip system.. All I can say is I was very impressed by his professionalism, his attention to details, and getting things done on time (a day early, which is very rare these days).

I also wanted to make this Cosmo bit more unique.. So I got a help from our RCC Admin, Rotary Engine Builder, and Powder Coater,... Kevin Landers to do his magic and get some stuff done for me....

Kevin powder coated jet black.. UIM and all the IC pipings.

All parts installed..

Finally,

I found a set of Tein HA coilovers (these are nearly impossible to find and help of the guy who imported the Cosmo). Only issue was that the coilovers were missing few parts such as wrench and bolts to mount it on the car. I've contacted Tein, and they were VERY helpful about finding the parts for me...

after the fronts went on..

Awesome! this makes me want more time and $$ to spend on my Rotary! Haha I need a new job. I am lucky if I get to drive it twice a month.
Hopefully the FD and I will have a good week together driving to seven stock! :)
