FD Irons on 13BT

can FD irons be used on an S4 or S5 13BT block?

Yup, but then it's no longer a S4 or S5 block. Effectively the plates are the block since they dictate the intake manifold.

so if i used the 13B-REW irons on a S4 13Bt rotating assembly, i'd have to use the 13B-REW LIM and UIM?

Yup, and get the center plate machined to accept the FC motor mounts. Basically at that point you're doing an REW swap

i recommend using stock housings if using stock irons. cosmo re swap is more fun anyways, from what i have been told.

Short answer, NO.

The intake ports do NOT line up with the intake ports off the lower intake manifold.

FD engine mounts are located on the rear iron underneath.
The stock FC oil pan does allow use of them properly.

The FD front iron is shorter, so the stock FC oil pan does not line up properly.

thanks ted, and so basically for a stronger block w/o pinning, i should probably just get S5 irons and be done with it.

That's my recommendation...
That's the easy route for building a stout 13BT that has proven to handle 400hp+.
