If it helps, my A-pillars were also broken (2-3 pieces). I used some superglue to temporarily hold the pieces together and then fiberglassed the back of them. Unless you know what you're looking for you can't tell they were broken. Since then I've also put them in and taken them out several times with no cracking. Just something to think about...
