So far, yes, only 1st gear. I'm shifting into 1st uphill because the city didn't consult me when placing their stop signs and traffic lights. If by complete stop you mean actually sitting still, then no, no sound. If you mean pulling off from a stop, then yes. That is about the only time I hear it.

But again, the noise isn't consistent. Today for example, I drove to work with the radio off. I didn't hear it once. I just got back from getting new tires. Nothing going to the shop, nothing when they pulled my car onto the lift, nothing when I left the shop. Then, about halfway back to work, it did it once going uphill. But it was very quiet compared to last Friday when I posted this, and it was only audible for a second. Last week, it was audible for a long as it took me to pull completely into gear.
