If there is a spark there you will see it. I don't know if you could hear it if you're inside the car. Yes my method by passes the clutch switch. It's very easy to do. You can rig a quick one up by getting 4 ft of wire strip it back wrap the wire around the starter solenoid and the other end just touch to the + side on the battery. Would take like a minute to hook up.
