Actually, that's the correct answer...
You want to *ideally* monitor oil pressure where it's doing it's job - at the bearings.
If this feasible? No.

The oil filter pedestal is a good, compromise location.
It's aft of the rear OPR, so it's far away from the oil pump - pressure drops first from furthest point of pressure source.
Plumbing an "adapter" isn't that much of a hassle - BIG plus here.
Stock oil pressure sender is about the same location - Mazda knew something we don't?
