Yes I have. I have never seen one damaged by a powerplant ever. There are mounts to break,Mounting brackets, and bolts!
Hence useless...
If you where by some miracle trying to box out the suspension then you also went about it wrong. You should have fabbed a strut bar and x member for underneath.
Maybe consult an engineer when you are developing products.

Does it make the powerplant base stronger?
No
Does it make the suspension or chassis stiffer?
No
Does it add weight?
