Yes it is slow, and I already want more power. My HPDE group of friends went mostly 350z over RX-8 for power and reliability reasons... My lap times are equal or maybe within a second depending on the track such as Road Atlanta with a 4000ft straight. Still fun on the track, especially for a noob like me who really needs to pay more attention to the racing line than how fast i'm going. Really depends on expectations. As far as Mazda jsut not giving it more power... I can definitely see the reasons they did what they did, but it still sucks we don't have a more dominant car to play around with.
