Copied it to a large format for you, so everyone can see what you are talking about.

I don't know what the abbreviations stand for either, but on the 91 wiring diagram it shows "E" going to chassis ground. I would imagine that "(E)" would be an alternate for the same thing. I don't know this for a fact however.
