Yes and no. At highway speeds, the air coming though the rad might be faster and have more volume than what the fan can achieve. What this does is stall the air around the fan, almost like creating a wind blocker, instead of flow. Now, if I set the fan 'on' temp higher, the normal airflow at highway speed should keep the fan from turning on, thus freewheeling and NOT hampering air flow.

I'm going to up the temp at which is comes on and see what happens. Right now it is set to come on at 180, which is too low.
