What gen is your car?

If it is second gen - and anything like the convertible, the alarm is going off randomly (when you don't lock the doors) because the slight weight of the lock lever itself - after years of use and being worn, is engaging the alarm system when you think it shouldn't.

Mine does that but it is even worse on my car because it has the OEM vibration sensor under the center armrest. That means that when it is unlocked, then the system arms itself because it is worn; then when the wind blows and rocks the car, the alarm goes off.

My simple solution is to make sure the passenger door is also unlocked when I leave the driver door unlocked. (Edit: This works for me because the pass side lock is nowhere near as worn as the driver lock.)
