ya,there is a small seal on the plastic speedometer gear that goes into your transmission.If it is shot,then you will get Gear oiil into your Dash...as mentioned,get under the driver's side of the transmission,undo teh cable from the Transmission and take the 10mm bolt out,that hold the Speedo gear assembly on.you may have to TAP(hit) it with a hammer,as it sometimes has corrosion around it and sticks to the side of the Trans,But you can just pull it out and get a Replacement for it..OR you can find an O-Ring that will fits on the plastic gear as a replacement seal.Good Luck,STYX.
