Didn't want the engine sitting on the stand much longer, so I hoisted it back into the bay.
Here is the blow-by-blow, I:
- put the exhaust mani on
- put the mounts back on
- put the P-Plate on and aligned it.
- hoisted it into position
- re-jacked the tranny - it had sagged down over the months.
- realized the rear lift bracket was on backwards. Let the engine sit on the frame while flipping the bracket
- got the long bolt through the bracket into the tranny
- shoved and changed the balance on the hoist until the engine fell into the bell housing
- spun the e-shaft until it locked in place (tranny in gear)
- put the long starter bolt through the passenger side top hole to align
- at this point, I couldn't get the engine to clear the steering, so I removed the driver side engine mount
- hoisted down and adjusted the engine until I could get a bolt into the top driver side
That is how it sits now. After I get home from voting tomorrow, I will try to get the rest of the bolts in and reinstall the driver side motor mount.
Hopefully the rest will go as smooth as that above. I'm really surprised I had no trouble so far doing it by myself.
