Its not BS. Mazda had AWD MPVs they were able to use the drivetrain from in order to make a group B rally FB in the mid 80s. I'm not sure on the exact specifics of how it worked since it was a factory race car and they'll never publish the full build up. I believe Miller used 626 front axles on his AWD FB back in the day which are the same from the MPV so I don't see how it could be BS.
Its not that AWD RX7s are unheard of, its just rare and the people who have done it did it way before the internet so there is very little detail on it.
The MPV AWD FB is in the 1988 Mazda RX7 brochure.... its real, I promise.
