Anyway, just cut the leads as close to the bulb, slide some appropriate sized heat shrink tubing over the leads a ways back to give you some room, solder in the new leads, slide the heat shrink tubing up and apply some heat and, voila! Now just put the bulb in the rubber tube thingy, and...this is the fun part....slide the tube back into the cavity. It helps to apply some sort of lube, I went with a silicone based stuff I use on 'O' rings and it slid right in.
