There is a single nut above the connector that holds it in. This connector supplies the ECU with voltage, (which is why it will not run without it). After you see how it comes apart, it is not very difficult.
As I recall, there is a tab in the center of the top of the front connector (further from you) that you push toward you. The rear one is for the door locks and power windows and is not necessary to remove.
