Looking to buy, engine question

I'm going to look at an 85 with a 12A that has been sitting for some time. The owner said that it was his daily driver for several years before work kept him away from home. He said that the last time it was started was about 2 years ago and before that it didn't idle. I am assuming that the engine is still good but am worried about the effects of it sitting for so long. I assume that it will have to be towed to the house where a fresh battery, old gas drain and carb cleaniing are in order. Is there anything that needs to be done to the engine before cranking it? I'm thinking of removing the plugs and try to turn the engine to ensure it moves freely then treat it like a flooded 12A with some oil to let the seals do their thing.

Thanks,
Hector

Honestly if it's sat for 2 years without running, I'd look at the combustion chambers, ensure the seals are still good, flush all fluids. If you have a bore scope look in the engine and see if there's any rust or flaking Chrome. If there is, don't even bother starting the engine, just pull it and prep it for a re-build.

furthermore look for rodent damage. Wires eaten, nests made, etc.

Saw the car today and will buy it. It's a Red GS with Grey cloth interior. Approx 90K miles. It's a complete car and the girl friend said "I'd like to try and rebuild the engine". I'm thinking "pull the engine, find a used running one to get the car running then worry about rebuilding the one that's been sitting for a while" . Oh well we'll have to move the pop up out of the driveway and have a tow truck get the car to the house since the brakes are probably locked up too. Good thing I've been working on cleaning the garage!! Oh well I guess I'll start a build thread I'll probably call it "The $400.00 project". I'm sure there will be a couple hundred questions as things progress so some you will get to know me very well.
